Abstract: Haryanvi literature, deeply rooted in the cultural and linguistic traditions of Haryana, serves as an expressive medium for representing the social realities of the region. A prominent theme in this literary tradition is the portrayal of rural women. This paper examines the role of women in Haryanvi literature, exploring their struggles, resilience, and evolving status within a patriarchal society. The study analyses folk tales, poetry, and modern narratives, highlighting the dynamic transformation of female characters and their depiction in a changing socio-cultural landscape. Through an interdisciplinary approach, this research seeks to understand the role of literature in shaping and reflecting the status of women in Haryana’s rural society.
